Charles “Boyd” Jacobs
Charles Boyd Jacobs; 84; a beloved and cherished father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather entered the kingdom of heaven on January 4, 2025. He departed from his home in Roxboro, NC, peacefully, surrounded by his family. Boyd’s life revolved around his family and his friends that he loved so deeply.
He dedicated his life to providing joy for those he loved; as well as his passions of fishing, maintaining a pristine lawn and building a business, Jake’s Transmissions, with his brother Alfred Jacobs. Boyd was well-known and respected for this dedication he showed to his family and friends as well as his friendly, warm and generous nature.
Boyd is survived by his son, Marty Jacobs and his wife Allyson of Roxboro, NC, and his daughter, Diane Clayton and her husband Richard also of Roxboro, NC. Boyd’s legacy continues through his grandchildren; Jena Hamilton; Jordan Gilmartin her husband Justin; and his great-grandchildren, Eno Alexander and Wren Gilmartin. His love for his family, especially his grandchildren, was evident to all who knew him.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents Mac Manning Jacobs and Clara Bell Ford; his wife Julia “Darrell” Jacobs; brothers Alfred Jacobs and Bobby Jacobs; and sisters Betty Ann Owens, Iris Spence and Ella Mae Donahue. Their memories continue to hold a special place in the hearts of those they left behind.
A visitation is scheduled for January 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hudson Funeral Home, located at 211 Miami Blvd, Durham, NC, 27703. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the Hudson Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 am on the same day.
Boyd Jacobs will be remembered fondly for his warm spirit, dedication to his family, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey. His passing leaves a void that will be keenly felt, but his legacy and the love he shared will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
