Brad Cox Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home on Mar. 7, 2025.
On March 3, 2025, Brad Cox (aka) "Hammer" left this world, although he wasn't ready to leave, the Lord saw fit to end his pain and give him peace.
7 months prior, Brad lost his girlfriend of 25 years, "Michelle", and he was lost without her there to care for him, but he had his dog "Tigg" who honestly he loved more than he loved himself! And he had his best friend (aka) "Garfield" of over 30 years and his wife "Beth" who came to stay weekends with him so he wasn't alone. "Garfield" stayed for weeks to care for "Tigg" when Brad had to go to the hospital, then "Garfield" had his own health issues, then our sister "Colleen" stepped in, and it was a big burden on her life, but she did it for Brad's love of that damn dog!!!
Brad wasn't good at alot of things, but he was a great darter. He taught me the game (at $20.00 a lesson), and we were partners in crime for many years, winning a few trophies, and we were known as "Hammer & Hammertte."
Although he didn't have a great singing voice, he loved to sing at karaoke. He would woo the girls with sexy Motown songs, and they would go crazy with his seductive showmanship, like he was Elvis!!!
Brad made alot of mistakes in his life, but who hasn't, but regardless he had alot of love for his family members, even if he never saw them. When things got too serious to deal with, he made jokes to mask his true feelings.
Although there will not be a formal ceremony, I want to thank everyone who has reached out with phone calls, texts, thoughts, prayers, and memories through Facebook, and there are ALOT of you, but Brad has gotten down on his knee for the last time to serve God!!!
