Brad Robert Dell, 68, of Churubusco, a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 29, 1956, in San Diego, CA, to Jerry and Phyllis (Zimmerman) Dell. He lived in South Bend until 4th grade, then he moved to Churubusco. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 1974. Brad was a man of dedication, loyalty, Faith, above all that a man of God, traits that were reflected in his lifelong commitment to his family, his work, and his passions. Brad, an intelligent and gifted toolmaker, dedicated his professional life to the Tool and Die industry, retiring in 2022 after 48 successful years at AMT in Fort Wayne. Outside of work, he nurtured a range of hobbies including building models, watching NHRA Drag Racing, NASCAR, Formula 1 Racing, racing slot cars, shooting and collecting guns, and following Notre Dame Sports, especially football. Brad's love for his family knew no bounds. He married his middle school sweetheart, Donna, on March 29, 1975, at Christian Chapel Church in Merriam. Together, they raised their children, Amanda, Brad II, and Audrey, in Churubusco. His dedication extended to his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Brad would travel to all of their sporting events or shows, showing up even when he was feeling unwell. Brad is survived by his wife Donna Dell; his mother, Mary Phyllis (Edward) Vankirk; his daughters Amanda (Christopher Turner) Dell and Audrey (Jeff Hartzell) Shoda; his son Brad (Brittany) Dell, his sister, Susan (Don) Hull; his half-sister Sarah (Matt) Hanson; his five grandchildren, Breanna, Jaylynn, Ivy, Harper, and Raegan. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Dell; his two brothers, Lance and Michael Dell. A funeral service will be held at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Brad will be laid to rest at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to the C3 Building Fund. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
