It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bradley "Brad" Fenner Porter on September 29, 2025, in Fort Worth, TX. Born on December 6, 1946, in Port Arthur, TX, Brad was a loving husband, father, and cherished member of his community. He was the son of the late Larry and Grace (Fenner) Porter and was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Lee Porter.

Brad served his country honorably in the United States Navy, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. Following his service, he devoted himself to a fulfilling career with Customs and Border Protection, safeguarding the nation for 25 years across various locations, including Louisiana, Canada, Ireland, and Poland.

A devoted member of Mingus Baptist Church, Brad passionately served as the church pianist and enjoyed singing at church, where his love for music flourished. His zest for life was evident in his many hobbies, including karaoke and playing the piano, showcasing his diverse appreciation for genres ranging from gospel to classical and country music. He also cherished moments spent camping and canoeing with his family, creating lasting memories.

Brad married his beloved wife, Sandy Baxter, on December 20, 1980, in Bedford, TX. They enjoyed nearly 45 years of partnership and love. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandy Porter of Strawn; his son, Andrew Porter of Gorman and companion Ashley Dycus; two granddaughters, Presley and Everly Ibarra; as well as nieces and nephews, including Chris Baxter, Era Westcott, Cassandra Stewart, and Shawn Holmes.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Mingus Baptist Church in Mingus, TX, officiated by Bubba Jonas. Interment will follow at Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn. A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Poindexter, James Baxter, Shawn Holmes, Roy Dale Dover, Daniel Westcott and Heath Sellers.

Brad's compassion, warmth, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his spirit continue to inspire and his legacy live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
