The Mass of Christian Burial for Brad Swenson of Wadena will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena with Father Jean-Claude Duncan as celebrant. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Parish Hall in Wadena with Prayers at 6:00 and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday from 9:30a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wadena, MN. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You are invited to watch the service via live-stream by going to Schuller Family Funeral Homes' Facebook Page or YouTube Page ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the age of 69, Brad passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 26, 2025, at Esko, MN. Bradley Alan Swenson, and twin sister Brenda, were born to E. Melvin and Lillian (Zaske) Swenson on October 14, 1955, in Bertha, MN. Brad attended Wadena Public Schools, graduated with the Class of 1973, and furthered his education at Wadena Technical College. On May 8, 1976, Brad married Julie McGrane at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena. The community will remember him for his 43 years of dedicated service for the City of Wadena, 30 of them as City Administrator. Many decisions for projects to better the city went across his desk. Away from work, Brad enjoyed the outdoors when hunting, fishing, camping, biking, golfing and traveling. He also refurbished furniture and enjoyed a good hand of cards! As a community member he belonged to Rotary, Elks Lodge and the Chamber of Commerce, along with the Knights of Columbus. Most of all he treasured time with his family. Preceding Brad in death were his parents, Melvin and Lillian; sister, Brenda; sister-in-law, Karen McGrane and brothers-in-law, Kenneth McGrane and Jeff Lehmkuhl; parents-in-law, Leonard and Catherine McGrane. Brad will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Julie; children, Shawn (Tabby) Swenson of Wadena, Amy (Jon) Ralph of Colfax, WI, and Sarah (Steven) Krocka of Esko; 7 grandchildren: Austin and Allyson Swenson, Eli, Sam and Lia Ralph, and Oakley and McKinley Krocka; great-grandchild, Onyx Mollet; siblings: Marsha (Gordon) Kuehne of Austin, and Bruce (Wanda) Swenson of Garfield; Julie's siblings: Harvey (Linda) McGrane, Mary (Robert) Roggenkamp, Carol (Ken) Mudek, Janet Lehmkuhl; and sister-in-law, LuAnn McGrane; along with a host of nieces, nephews, former coworkers, neighbors and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Allyson Swenson, Lia Ralph, Oakley Krocka, McKinley Krocka, and Onyx Mollet. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Swenson, Eli Ralph, Sam Ralph, Jon Ralph, Steve Krocka and Marshal Swenson.
