Bradley Thomas Thomlinson of Ironton, Missouri left this life for the next on February 1, 2024, at the too-young age of thirty-five years, after some years of battling a series of health problems. He passed on at home where he was always in the loving, supportive embrace of his family, whom he loved deeply and unfailingly. He was born October 20, 1988, in Fredericktown, Missouri the son of Thomas and Mary (Gross) Thomlinson of Ironton, Missouri. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his younger brother, Zach Thomlinson and his younger sister, Candace Thomlinson, both of Ironton. Brad is also deeply missed by a great many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
As part of a very musical family, Brad lived and breathed music. Nothing gave him greater joy than jamming with his talented Dad, brother, and friends. Over the years, he learned to play guitar and drums at a professional level, with great skill and feeling. He also found his voice as both a beautiful singer and truly gifted songwriter. He has written and recorded many songs that will live on long after him, bringing encouragement and smiles to all those who hear his unique musical gifts. Brad used his music to love others, writing and singing songs that often-paid tribute to the people in his life, including one for his Dad, whom he looked up to as a model of a man; his Mom, whom he loved so dearly; and other family members who have passed on before him. In his first song to be played on the radio, entitled Beautiful, he sings "When you think I'm gone, I'll be there.". And indeed, he is –even though he now walks with his Savior.
In years past, Brad enjoyed working as a certified nurse's assistant in our local nursing homes. This is consistent with his huge and open heart, and his love for all those around him, especially the vulnerable ones. He had the gift of making those around him feel seen, appreciated, and cared for – and this was never more apparent than when he was around his very special sister, on whom he doted with great tenderness and affection.
Many have asked how and where they can give honor to Brad. The family asks that those who wish to do so please make donations in his name to: Camp Penuel, PO Box 367, Ironton, MO 63650. A Memorial gathering and services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Penuel Fellowship Church to celebrate Brad's life. Of course, it will be full of music, as is fitting and proper.
