Bradyn Lee McDowell, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on January 12, 2025, in Plainville at the age of 17. He was born on January 15, 2007, to Bryce McDowell and Tory (Fisher) Benedick in Hays, Kansas.
Bradyn was known for his larger-than-life personality. He had a deep love for gaming and could often be found playing Fortnite late into the night. Bradyn was always full of life, full of humor, and loved to make those around him smile. He would frequently say, "What do you want, bruh?" and had a unique way of showing his love and care for others. Whether it was his constant battles with losing his glasses, his love for non-stop eating (especially 10 McChicken sandwiches in one sitting!), fishing, or his adoration for pizza rolls, Bradyn lived with a sense of joy and fun that was contagious.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his family - especially his father, Bryce - and his desire to be loved in return. Bradyn was also a proud big brother to his siblings, Jesse, Mason, Caden, Brynlee, and Miya, and cherished his role as an uncle to his nephew, Kacetin. Bradyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bradyn is survived by his parents, Bryce McDowell of Plainville and Tory Benedick of Hays; grandmothers, Connie Fisher of Missouri and Linda McDowell of Plainville; brothers, Jesse Mackey, Mason McDowell, Caden McDowell of Plainville; sisters, Brynlee and Miya McDowell of Plainville; and nephew, Kacetin Mackey of Plainville.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gary Fisher and Russell "Rusty" McDowell; and brother, Acetin Benedick.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 20, 2025, at 10AM at the First Christian Church in Plainville. Burial will follow in the St. Severin Cemetery in Ellis County. Visitation will be Sunday, 6-8PM at the funeral home in Plainville.
