Brandon David O’Brien, 37, of Scaly Mountain, NC, passed away after an brief illness. Born in Maricopa County, Arizona, Brandon brought a gentle spirit and a bright presence to everyone who knew him.
He moved from Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Scaly Mountain in 2015, where he worked at Old Edwards Inn. Brandon loved the outdoors—hiking with friends, fishing, and loved all animals, these were among his greatest joys. He was a beautiful, precious soul whose kindness and warmth touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed.
Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents Katherine Gillie, Gene Friar, and Martha O’Brien; two uncles, Mike and Daniel O’Brien.
He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Friar (Gary Enyeart) of Fort Wayne, IN; his father, David O’Brien (Sheri) of Scaly Mountain; uncle, Gene Friar (Lisa); cousin, Adam Friar (Lydia); and several other cousins who loved him dearly.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macon Funeral Home to assist with arrangements.
