Charles Rogers

FRANKLIN - Charles James "Jim" Rogers, 92, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, at Pisgah Manor.
Born Feb. 2, 1934, in Macon County, he was the son of the late Charles M. Rogers and Minnie Cabe Rogers.
Jim was a devoted member of Hickory Knoll Methodist Church. In his younger years, he found joy and freedom riding motorcycles, a pastime that reflected his spirited nature. He was an avid reader throughout his life and cherished every moment spent with his family.
A proud veteran, Jim honorably served his country for 20 years, two years in the United States Army followed by 18 years in the United States Air Force. His dedication and service were a defining part of his life.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathryn "Kathy" Moffitt Rogers, who passed away in 2023, as well as brothers, Robert Rogers and Wiley Rogers.
He is survived by his three children, Melissa (Mike) Allen of Candler, Kimberly Pierce of Franklin and Charles B. Rogers of Lake Oswego, Oregon; and grandchildren, who brought him great pride and joy, Jordan (Mark) Waldroop, Erica (Stevie) Waldroop, Ben Waldroop, Barrett Hursey and Alexis Allen.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m., at Macon Funeral Home with Reverend Stephanie Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home in recognition of Jim's dedicated service.
