Brandon Matthew Olivo was born on August 7, 2003 to John and Nancy Olivo. He was their miracle baby, after years of infertility. He often made Bad Bunny video with his Grandma. It was one of his favorite trips. He spent various summers with his aunts and uncles in Texas,New Jersey and Florida where he learned to love cowboy hats, rodeos, swimming bowling and spending time with family. He also spent a Summer in Mexico with his grandfather. He was especially close to his many many cousins. From the time he was little he was determined and driven to succeed. He had an array of interests from cars and music to martial arts and wrestling. He took guitar, piano lessons and chorus at the Third Street Music School which he attended for 8 yeara. He was also a student at the CHKA and DAS Karate School where he had instructors who taught him discipline respect and responsibiltity. He respected his instructors and used all the skills they taught him to succeed. He graduated from Manhattan Business Academy in June of 2021 as an SEO Scholar. He sent home pictures and came home telling stories of all he had seen and his many adventures. After a 9 month deployment Brandon reenlisted. He wanted to sharpen his skills and receive more training so that he could have more opportunities. In the Navy he made amazing friends he considered brothers and sisters.
On April 26, 2024 Brandon welcomed a daughter, Melody Katalina Olivo with Katherine Orellana. In August 2024 they married making them a family of 3. A devoted husband to their beloved sister Katherine, cherished father to Melody and baby olivo, who is due later this Summer, and beloved brother-in-law. Brandon brought warmth and joy to all who knew him. He brought light to every room he walked into. He will forever be missed and forever cherished as the best brother-in-law in the world. He was very loved.
On February 27, 2025 Brandon took his own life. He was 21 years old. He had been depressed and wouldn't talk about it when asked. We will never know why this happened. We wished we would have known how much pain he was in. He left behind a huge hole in our family that we will never be able to fill. We will never understand how our beautiful boy could leave us this way. We will miss his humor, his laughter and his larger than life personality. We will forever miss his beautiful smile and bear hugs. Our family will never be the same without him.
Brandon is survived by his wife Katherine Orellana, daughter Melody Katalina (and a baby to be born later this year,) his parents John and Nancy Olivo, his grandparents and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
