Brandon J. Reyes Leon, known affectionately as Brandon to his loved ones, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 29, 2024, in New York. Born on January 13, 1999, in the vibrant heart of Puerto Rico, Brandon's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
Brandon's journey was marked by courage from an early age. At just 12 years old, he underwent a heart transplant that set him on a path of gratitude and purpose. Despite the challenges he faced, Brandon graduated from cosmetology school and became a professional barber, a career that allowed him to touch the lives of many with his skill and warm conversation.
To know Brandon was to love Brandon. He was known for his funny, loving, friendly and calm nature. Brandon's smile was infectious, and his presence could brighten even the gloomiest of days. His passion for life was evident in the love he had for his family, especially his cherished daughter, Leilani Reyes, his devoted mother, Marisol Leon, and his siblings, Crystal (and her husband AJ), Yari, Taisha, and Jean Chris. He was preceded in death by his father, the late Jorge Reyes.
Brandon's legacy is one of love and selflessness. Having been given a second chance at life through organ donation, he fervently wished to pay it forward. His final act of generosity has already saved two lives, continuing his remarkable impact on the world.
As the best father, uncle, brother, friend, and son one could hope for, Brandon's memory will be treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit, encapsulated by his laughter and kindness, will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and those who carry a part of him through his gift of life. Brandon J. Reyes Leon will be deeply missed, yet his story will continue to inspire for generations to come.
Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2024, 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Jude's Church, 402 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012, where his Funeral Mass will follow at 7:00 PM.
