Our beloved Brandy Centrell Watson passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 47. Her sudden passing has left our hearts heavy with sorrow, yet we find comfort in the beautiful life she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Brandy was a natural connector. As the middle child, she embraced her role wholeheartedly, sharing a deep and cherished bond with her two sisters and maintaining a precious closeness with her family. She valued her friendships deeply and possessed a vibrant presence that could light up any room. Brandy approached life with passion and enthusiasm, living fully and authentically in every moment.
She found joy in nurturing life—tending lovingly to her plants and caring deeply for animals. In 2006, Brandy graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, proudly earning the title of Dr. Watson. Through her work, she touched the lives of countless patients and their families and was especially cherished as the family’s trusted veterinarian. Brandy was also a brave and visionary entrepreneur who forged her own path and inspired other young Black women to pursue their dreams with confidence, courage, and determination.
Brandy lived life on her own terms, guided by curiosity, joy, and love. She delighted in exploring the world, thoughtfully planning unforgettable experiences for her family, and pursuing the things that brought her happiness. Music held a special place in her heart. She loved attending concerts and had an impressive appreciation for a wide range of artists and genres. Her music trivia knowledge was legendary—you always wanted Brandy on your team.
Brandy is survived by her beloved mother, Betty Watson; her sisters, Tanisha Watson and Kellie Wilson; her nephew, Jonathan Wilson; and her fiancé Francis Andoh. She also leaves behind a host of aunts and uncles, many cousins, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Watson.
