Bre Boudrey Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 6, 2026.
Bre Edmond Boudrey III was born on January 19, 1989. He went quietly in his sleep on December 25, 2025, at his home, answering the call from labor to eternal rest.
Bre was the beloved son of his devoted parents, Bre Jr. and Adrianne Scott Boudrey, whose love, guidance, and prayers helped shape his journey. He was the proud and loving father of his cherished son, Kevin Boudrey, who was the joy of his life.
Bre was a graduate of The Rayen High School, Class of 2007, where he was a 3-year letterman in basketball and later attended Youngstown State University. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Christian Fellowship Tabernacle. He later attended Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church, where he faithfully served in music ministry as a percussionist.
Bre was employed with MY-CAP in the Home Weatherization Department and also worked for various commercial cleaning companies until his health no longer permitted him to continue. He also had the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach on several little league football teams, mentoring and encouraging young athletes.
Bre loved spending time with his family, but his greatest joy was rearing his son Kevin, especially conditioning and training him for football. On any given Friday night, you could hear Bre proudly cheering, "Let's go, Kev!" During his illness, Bre prayed that God would allow him to walk his son down the 50-yard line on Senior Night, and God granted that prayer on October 17, 2025.
Bre was also known as a sneakerhead who loved purchasing and wearing Jordans, often bragging about his latest pair. He was a devoted sports fan-his favorite college football team was Alabama (Roll Tide), his favorite NFL team was the Minnesota Vikings, and his favorite NBA team was the Milwaukee Bucks.
Bre leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kevin Boudrey; his parents, Bre Jr. and Adrieanne Scott Boudrey; his fiancée, Donjuan; his grandmother, Mother Lillian Storey; aunts Yvonne Scott, Sheneequa Storey, Adrianne (George) Doward of Youngstown; Tanya Walker of Columbus; Sophia (Greg) Davis of Maryland; Marcia Turnage of Virginia; Chiffon Scott of Schenectady; uncles Robert Scott of Youngstown; Pastor Duane (Dionne) Turnage of Liberty; Lamar Ellis of Bronx, New York; great-aunts Kathleen Anderson of Montgomery, Alabama; Dr. Maggie Joy Stanton of McDonough, Georgia; Myrtis Rae Thornton; Ella Mae Boudrey of Youngstown; great-uncle Walter Nichols of Montgomery, Alabama; and a host of cousins, extended family, and bonus aunts and uncles and his God daughter Melonyi Elkins .
As Bre entered eternity, he joined his grandfathers Willie J. Scott, Melvin Storey, and Bre Edmond Boudrey Sr.; his grandmothers Velma Boudrey and Joyce Boudrey; his great-grandparents James and Alberta Adams, Bre and Myrtis Boudrey, and Willie and Gercille
Scott; aunts Minister Yvette Walker and Barbara Shelton; great-aunts Gwendolyn Scott, Susie Scott-Jones, Dorothy Scott-Nichols, and Jacqueline Baugh; great-uncle Richard Boudrey; and cousin Brandon Liggens.
"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord… they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." - Revelation 14:13
