Brenda Anne Herring McGinnis, a beloved and devoted homemaker known for her love of the outdoors, camping, fishing, and caring for numerous cats, has peacefully passed away. Born in Gaston County, North Carolina on April 20, 1943, Brenda's vibrant spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her.
She created countless memories through camping trips and fishing adventures that brought joy to her life. Her passion for the wilderness extended to backpacking excursions, where she found solace in the beauty of nature. Moreover, Brenda's compassionate nature shone through in her dedicated care for her beloved feline companions.
On March 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, Brenda bid farewell at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, North Carolina. Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who cherished her dearly.
Brenda is survived by her devoted husband of nearly six decades, Jimmy Delaney McGinnis; daughter Angelia Rae McGinnis; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a multitude of wonderful friends whose lives she brightened with her presence.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Wesley and Norma Evelyn Payne Herring; as well as her brothers Ronald and Dale Herring. Although she may have departed this world, Brenda's memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Services to honor and celebrate Brenda's life will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 The visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony at 2:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating, located at 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.
In remembrance of an extraordinary woman who embraced life with open arms and found happiness in simple pleasures, Brenda's legacy will continue to inspire those who carry her memory forward. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
