Brenda Burmaster Obituary

Brenda Kay Burmaster, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Gamaw, and friend, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on January 12, 1955, in Lewisville, Arkansas, she was a shining light in the lives of those who had the privilege to know her.

Brenda, affectionately known as Gamaw and favorite Aunt B, spent most of her life as a devoted homemaker before finding joy in her employment with H&R Block. Her career was not just a job; it was a testament to her dedication and love for her family, who served as her motivation throughout her life. She devoted 50 wonderful years as a loving wife to her dear husband Kyle Ellis Burmaster, who she has now been reunited with in eternal rest.

Family was the cornerstone of Brenda’s existence. She took immense pride in her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, continually pouring love and support into her children and grandchildren. Her daughter, Krystal Stinnett and her husband Cory, along with her son, Keith Burmaster and his wife Wendy, received endless affection from their mother. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren —Zachory McClure, Rebekah Cook and husband Cody, Tessa Burmaster, and Archer Burmaster—were the jewels in her crown, and she relished every moment spent with them. She also delighted in her role as a great-grandmother to Brinley McClure, embracing the joy of new life with open arms.

As a sister, Brenda was a loving sister to her siblings: Jane James, Redia Butcher, Cathy Fletcher, and Ricky Sparks; and her sister-in-law Kay Sparks. They will forever carry her memories close to their hearts, as she was the glue that held the family together, ensuring everyone felt loved and cherished.

Brenda’s personality was vibrant, touching everyone she met with her warmth, compassion, and sense of humor. She was a Godly woman whose faith anchored her life, making sure her family remained centered around the Church. She wanted nothing more than her loved ones to know how much they meant to her, and she expressed that love daily through her famous spaghetti and taco salad. Visitors at her home were always greeted with delicious meals, and she often went the extra mile to extend their stay with heartfelt hospitality.

Her hobbies reflected her lively spirit; she loved playing all sorts of games—from board games to cards and dominos, always ensuring she had plenty of snacks to share. An avid Elvis fan, Brenda enjoyed traveling with friends to attend Elvis tributes across many states, a passion that brought her much joy during her later years.

Brenda Burmaster leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will live on in those who knew her. Although she has said goodbye, her spirit will continue to echo in the cherished memories she created and in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at North Main Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas, with visitation starting at 2:00 PM followed by the service at 3:00 PM on February 26, 2026 with Pastor Omar Cantu officiating. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of her husband, reunited after a lifetime of happiness and devotion.
