Brenda Sue Smith Doby

Mrs. Brenda Sue Smith Doby, age 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, March 8, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Doby was born in Surry County, on August 24, 1947, to the late John and Stella Hall Smith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Doby Jr (Wendy), Chad Doby (Jessica Post); daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Gomez (Chris); grandchildren, Joshua Gomez (Kayla), Jordan Gomez, Brittany Woods (Austin) Kirsten Smith (Brian); six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Doby was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lynn Doby Sr; as well as all her siblings A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery with service conducted by Rev. Trent Lyons. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
