Evangelist Brenda Holt Obituary
Praise the Lord Everybody! I was born September 16, 1947 in Caswell County, North Carolina to my loving parents, my father Jonah, better known as Papa Thompson and my loving mother Helen Hester Thompson. Being raised with my sisters, we lived in Caswell County from several years and I graduated from Caswell County Training School in 1966. Wanting a better life for myself. I ventured out and began working at Burlington Industries. I worked there for over 20 years and later in life I became a sales associate with REA located in Graham, North Carolina.
Everywhere I went I would tell people about the goodness of the Lord simply because he had been so good to me. I had not always done what was right, but God still chose me to be one of his children. Earlier in life, I joined Beulah Baptist Church, and later in life, I joined refuge temple. Honey, now I LOVE praising the LORD. While I always had a close walk with the Lord, he drew me closer when he called me into the ministry in the 70's, and I began to evangelize near and far still telling people that God is great and greatly to be praised. now, if you knew me, you knew I could be so much fun and I could laugh and smile and change the atmosphere just with a few words. Truth be told, it was never me, It was all God. Now, on the other hand if I had to straighten you out, I could do it in a way that was so calm, cool and collected that you never knew that I was getting you right. Let me not forget, I loved to decorate and to be fashionable. Many of you have some of my touches of love around your homes and hearts.
The Lord promised in his word that we should live three score years and 10 and if by reason of health and strength, our years would be four score. He blessed me with 70 years of life and an additional seven years, which is the number of completion. Following a brief illness And conversation conversations with my Lord and Savior, he sent his angels to my bedside and carried me away to my eternal rest.
To my sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Please know that I love you all, especially with the love of God. To my sisters, Nancy Thompson, Patricia Holman, Carolyn T. Thompson, and Joyce T. Jacobs, please know that I will remember all of the years that we spent together and all of the prayers and support that we have shared down through the years. to my nieces: Dana Hardy, Cathy Beamon, Jackie Evans, Chanda Thompson, Kendra Canady, my nephews: Jeff, Phillip & Freddie and all of your children, I want you all to know while I did not have my own children, you each held a special place within my heart. To my dear friend Anne Atwater, continue to give God the praise and remember our times of fellowship. And to all of my other relatives and friends know that I loved you and no even more importantly that God loves you, best.
I am now resting with my mother and father, and many other loved ones who have gone on this same way. Remember, Praise the Lord Everybody!
