Brenda Marie Hopper, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Monday, May 13, 2024.

Brenda was born on October 18, 1952, in Macon, Georgia to the late Frank and Sarah Butler.  She attended and graduated from Miller High School in 1970, then went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Georgia College. Her love of learning extended to her love of teaching as she taught college level computer science courses and worked closely with scholarship recipients at Middle Georgia State University. A faithful woman, Brenda attended both Second Street Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. Her servant’s heart often carried into her personal life where her love of giving back led her to many opportunities to serve and care for others, particularly being a member of the Big Sister program. So many lives were touched by her gracious heart, but her family and friends were at her core. She loved being the home room mom, cub scout mom, and team mom for her sons’ activities. She loved spending time and making memories with her family and friends, who loved her so dearly. To know Brenda was a special honor and she carried a legacy of generosity to all she touched.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Butler, nephew, Mickey Cramsie, and siblings-in-law, Dennis Brown, John Cramsie, and Erin Hopper.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 53 years, Charles Hopper; sons, Robbie Hopper and Clint Hopper (Ana Khoune); grandchildren, Kayla Hopper Bookout (Connor), Maggie Hopper, and Jack Hopper; siblings, Peggy Butler Davidson (Cecil), Ruby Butler Brown, Donald Butler (Sandy), and Wayne Butler (Rachel); nieces and nephews, Donna Cramsie Winn (Larry), Johnny Davidson, Joey Davidson (Susan), Lyn Brown (Kim), Denny Brown (Jennifer), Stephanie Morris Butler (Tate), Stephen Butler, Suzie Butler Welles (Mike), Christie Butler, Mandy Butler, and Josh Butler; siblings-in law, Rachel Hopper Cramsie, and Cary Hopper along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
