Brenda was a firecracker who loved and lived fiercely. She was a fighter who stood up for those she loved
and for what she believed in. She was generous with her heart, time, and resources, and her family
constantly grew as she took others under her wing when they needed her most.
She is survived by her children, Rachelle (Lowry) Roberts, Mathew Douglas Lowry, and Melissa Diane
(Lowry) Lewis. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; her siblings, Sandra, Nelda, and Tim; and a
large extended family. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Douglas, with whom she shared
many happy years; her parents, Alfreda and Ellis; her brother, Ronald; and several beloved extended family
members.
A private memorial service will be held with her children in Utah, with another private service by invitation
only in Gulfport, Mississippi, at which time her ashes will be laid to rest alongside those of her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to support Alzheimer's
research.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Valencia of Draper, who made her feel loved,
happy, safe, and comfortable in her final years. Brenda Diane (Bond) Lowry, age 72, of Draper, Utah,
passed away on September 26, surrounded by her loved ones.
Brenda was born on November 30, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, to Alfreda (Holmes) and Ellis Bond.
She was a popular student who loved the arts and attended nursing school before marrying and starting
a family. Throughout her life, she worked as a life insurance agent, dental technician, ballroom dance
teacher, and secretary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Institute of Religion.
Brenda will be remembered for her love of art, dance, and all things beautiful. She was the consummate
hostess-known for planning grand dinners, parties, and even weddings for friends and family, entirely
gratis. She provided the décor, food, and often baked and decorated the cakes herself. She was a devoted
wife and mother, with her family always being her highest priority. As a grandmother, she was
completely devoted to her grandchildren and desired nothing more than to be surrounded by their love and
laughter.
