Brenda Meadows Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Manchester Funeral Home on Feb. 17, 2026.
Brenda Kay Meadows age 60 of Manchester Tennessee, entered into the glorious kingdom of Heaven, greeted by her late brothers Reffer and Richard Meadows on February 16, 2026 at 10:50 PM peacefully at NHC nursing home with her son by her side.

Born May 1, 1965, to Melba Smithey and the late William "Pete" Meadows, Brenda was a machinist and mechanic most of her working life doing a man's work often the only woman in the factory. Brenda is a celebrated member of the outstanding Coffee County Central High school class of 1983. She loved every moment spending time with classmates, often found at J&G pizza and steakhouse enjoying a good meal and laughing together. She was an All-Star athlete in softball, basketball, and track and field.

Brenda loved nothing more than being a proud softball grandma and cheering for her favorite player #8, no matter the blistering heat, pouring rain, or freezing temperatures you could hear her cheering on her Booger (Shaylee). If there was a 70s or 80s classic rock song playing you knew Brenda Kay was jamming to it from ACDC to Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne and all-time favorite Journey.

She loved her God and church with all her heart. She shared her testimony many times with inmates in Coffee County jail along with others of the Celebrate Recovery program at Forrest Mill Church of Christ where she was a long-time member.

Brenda is survived by faithful son Brad and wife Brittany Meadows, loving mother Melba Smithey, adoring granddaughter and light of her life Shaylee Meadows, bonus son Caleb Gregory, bonus granddaughters Teegan Steere and Addison Teal, bonus brother Jeff Brown, and an All-Star team of cousins Kathy Joanne, Tish, Linda, Leon, Tina, Beverly, Lisa, Kim, Susan, Michelle and special friend Shaina Steere.

The family would like to thank NHC of Tullahoma, especially nurses Amanda and Liz, whose extra love and compassion for our beloved mother, grandmother, and daughter Brenda Kay made a difficult time a little easier.

Visitation will be held at Manchester Funeral Home on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday February 20, 2026, with a visitation held before beginning at 11:00am. Officiating services will be Brother Dustin Welch. Interment will follow the funeral at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery in Hillsboro, TN.

Brenda Kay and I were friends since first grade. She was so sweet and fun to laugh with. We made lots of great memories. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. She spoke of Shaylee, Brad, his wife, and her mom every time I saw her. She always talked about missing her brother's. I am glad she hurts no more, but miss her. I am remembering you and your loved ones today and always. Reach out if you need anything.
