Brenda Kay Merriett, 63 years, 6 months, 14 days old, passed away on March 6, 2023 in Ava.
Brenda was born August 22, 1959 in Springfield, MO to Carl Eugene "Gene" and Ruth Edith (Lawson) Workman.
She grew up in Ava and was a 1977 Ava High School graduate. Brenda was a hard worker and had worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava for several years until the plant moved then she started working at Town & Country Supermarket. Later she worked at Hutchens Steel Plant in Seymour and retired from there.
In 1978 Brenda and David Goodman were united in marriage in Ava by the Rev. Tom Johnson. Together they were blessed with three children, Wendy, Cory and P.J.
Brenda was raised attending the Sweden Church. She was baptized at Camp Joy. She enjoyed watching her Kansas City Chiefs! She also delighted in riding horses and camping with her family. Her life was centered around her family and especially her kids and grandkids!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Ruth; baby daughter, Wendy; her granddaughter, Luna Renee Jo Goodman ; her siblings, Patty Workman, Bill Workman and Debbie Williams.
Brenda is survived by her kids; Cory Goodman & Tiffany and Patricia Jo "P.J." Jenkins & Jake all of Ava; her grandchildren, Blane, Piper, Jasmine, Jennifer and Presley; one great grandchild on-the-way; her twin sister, Linda Sullivan; her "little brother", Mike Workman; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Brenda will be Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Sweden Cemetery, east of Ava. Visitation will be prior to the service Friday at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Blake Atchison. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering to help on her services.
