WEAVERVILLE – Brenda Oliver Payne, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Brenda was born on January 19, 1954, in Carter County, Tennessee. She was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life.
Brenda retired from Mountain Area Pediatric Associates. She loved spending time in nature, visiting the beach and mountains, as well as being surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was the daughter of the late James and Rosa Lee Dunn Oliver. Also preceding her in death is her sister, Wanda Elkins, and brothers, Bobby and Raymond Oliver.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Ray Payne; and two sons, Jeremiah Payne (Hope) and Tim Payne (Lisa).
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverend Timmy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
