Brenda Lee Perrin, 64, of Michigan City, passed away unexpectedly at 8:02 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City.
Born on December 28, 1960, in Michigan City, to Roger Pedzinski and Lois (Tennis) Keen.
Brenda's early years in Michigan City laid the foundation for a life full of love and caring for others. Her career spanned over three decades at St. Anthony Hospital, where she prepared countless meals for patients and staff alike. Brenda's culinary skills also shone brightly during her 15 years as a cook at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, where her dishes brought joy to many, until her retirement in 2022.
Brenda's zest for life extended beyond her work. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially loved spending time outdoors, tinkering in her yard and experimenting with gardening. She also loved to travel and her greatest wish was to retire and spend time with her family traveling. Her grandchildren meant everything to her, and she spent the last years of her life dedicated to doting on them and providing anything her family needed. "Nana's house" was the gathering place for many family get-togethers and holidays and has always been a special place to her family. Her generosity was unmatched and was a reflection of her loving nature, as she always sought to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for those she held dear.
Family was the cornerstone of Brenda's life. She was a sister to Darlene Games, Deanna Pedzinski, and Greg (Venise) Pedzinski. Her heart was especially full when it came to her children, Nicole (Ricky) Santana, Ryan Perrin (Natalia Garcia), and Amber Grantham. Being a caregiver to her adult daughter Amber brought happiness and fulfillment to both of their lives, and her absence will be especially felt there. Brenda's life was greatly enriched by her role as a grandmother to Ricky III, Caiden, Makynlee, Kamryn, Nolan, and Marshall. Her love and guidance will continue to be a guiding light in their lives. Though she faced the profound losses of her son Jeremy, grandson Lincoln, and her parents, Brenda's strength and love never wavered. Her legacy is carried on not only by her immediate family but also by her numerous nieces and nephews, who saw in her a source of support and affection.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, with Pastor Joseph Watterson officiating. A Visitation and viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
