She valued many friendships by offering love, generosity, and greeting everyone with warm smiles even on her worst days.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Johnnie Sapp of Flomaton, AL, and brother, Glenn Sapp of Seminole AL.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Roger Watson of Jay, a daughter, Wendy (Cary) Upton of Jay, a grandson, Tate (Merla) Upton of Jay, a granddaughter, Bayleigh Upton of Jay, a brother, Doug Sapp of Pensacola, two special sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dean and Sue King of Jay, many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Jay First Baptist Church. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a celebration of life immediately following at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Jay City Cemetery. Jay Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Don Dean, Doyle King, Joe Phillips, Shon Owens, Chandler Burgess, and Cole Nowling.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dale Westmoreland, Jimmy McCaskill, Elton Nowling, Dr. David Smith, Ken Jernigan, Bill Bryan, Terry Diamond, Elijah Bell, Jimmy Burgess, Dr. Lance Raney, Jerry Jones, Lance Youngblood, and Harry Hawthorne.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Smith and staff, as well as Jay Hospital nurses and staff, for the wonderful care they have always given to Gail (GG). They would also like to thank VITAS Hospice Healthcare for making sure that she stayed comfortable in her final days. Another heartfelt thank you to family, friends, neighbors, and the Jay community for the outpouring of love and support.

Gail was such a sweet person and my first cousin. She was always kind and reminded me of her mother( Johnnie) who was my dads sister. Gail and Roger were always laughing and having fun and treated you like someone special anytime you saw them. God bless them both, Wendy and family. Chuck Fore
