Brenda K. Welch

Brenda K. Welch, 73 of Marion, died peacefully late Monday evening October 7, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 11, 1951 in Marion to the late Esta Howard and Della Mae (Childres) French.
Brenda was very crafty...she crocheted, did needlepoint, sewed, knitted, and quilted. She made all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren a crocheted blanket when they were born. When her kids were younger, she was always making ceramic pieces and she had one of the largest Artex paint set that she used to make so many pillowcases, dishtowels, dishrags and pictures with. She made numerous scrapbooks with family pictures and loved making holiday wreaths and decorations with her sister Doris.
Brenda loved to host the annual family reunion and holiday dinners.
She loved her entire family, but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were extra special to her. She was instrumental in helping to raise them. She would always let her great granddaughters give her manicures, pedicures, and do her hair and make-up. No matter how silly they wanted to make it, she always let them do as they wanted.
Surviving is her husband, Cairl Welch, they were married November 15, 1969 in Marion. Also surviving are their children, Melissa (Donny Gay) Arthur of Prospect, Cairl (Debbie) Welch Jr. of Richwood and Chasity Flournoy of Marion
Grandchildren-Shadow Arthur, Kada Arthur, Amanda (Jared) Arbogast, Madison Welch, Marcie Hamilton, Dillion (Aliza) Hamilton, Seth (Stasia Manley) Hamilton Sr.
Great Grandchildren-Oakland Hamilton, Lyric Arthur, Shade Arthur, Luna Arthur, Liam Brammer, Braylynn Arbogast, Aaliyah Arbogast, Amelia Arbogast, Amenadiel Jones, Isaac Hamilton, Addalynn Hamilton, Oaklee Hamilton, Seth Hamilton Jr., Raelynn Funk and an unborn great granddaughter.
Siblings, Doris (Joe) Williams of Tri-Cities, WA, Wanda Ray of Marion, Wilma Johnson of Marion,
Russell French of Idaho and Ruby Shope of Marion.
And many friends of her children's and friends of her grandchildren's that knew her as Nanny.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Kathy Runyon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.
