Brent Blackwell Durham, 62 of Henrietta, passed away to soon on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from cancer. A visitation will be held between 5 and 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Davis Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Henrietta. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at First United Methodist Church in Henrietta with Pastor Aaron Logan officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Henrietta. Brent was born on December 7, 1962, to Richard and Eleanor (Flippen) Durham in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1997, Brent met Heidi (Trey) while selling her a vehicle, to the surprise of his salespeople. Since they had not seen him negotiate a vehicle sale in years. Later, during the test drive, Brent found the courage to ask Heidi out. They married on March 31, 2007. They have spent a total of 28 long wonderful years together. Before settling in Henrietta, Brent lived in Hammond LA and Kilgore TX. While in Kilgore, Brent owned Durham Chevrolet from 1986-2006. He later started a business selling horse trailers "Durham Trailer Ranch." After moving to Henrietta, Brent started his dream job of ranching. He was never one to not take risks and sit idle. So, he bought an oil field cement business called "Oilfield Partners". He encouraged and respected hard work. In his earlier years, Brent loved team roping with his son, Richard. With relentless practice and encouragement from Brent, Richard made it to the NFR. Brent spent a large part of his life hunting with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball and granddaughters dance and cheer. He was proud of his daughter, Brittany, a veterinarian who has his business drive. He was truly heart broken to not be able to see what great things his daughter, Ella would accomplish. He fought hard against cancer to make lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. Brent was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and United States Team Roping Association. He supported Sheppard Air Force Base by providing the land for hunting during the yearly Dove Salute. He sponsored a team and promoted Henrietta during Turkey Fest. Brent loved his family, and they loved him dearly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will truly be missed. Brent was preceded in death by his father, Richard Durham. Brent is survived by his wife, Heidi; daughter, Ella; son, Richard (Danielle) Durham of Henrietta; daughter, Brittany (Jay) Senn of Mt. Pleasant TX; three grandchildren, Stella Durham, Addison and Declan Senn; brother, Rick (Elizabeth) Durham of Loranger LA; brother, Scott (Heather) Durham of Baton Rouge LA; sister, Amy ( Kevin) Rhoads of Dallas GA; sister, Mercedes (Greg ) Moser of Baton Rouge LA; brother, Blake Durham (Brooke ) of New Orleans LA; stepmother, Mercedes Harvey of Hammond LA; mother; Eleanor Flippen of McComb MS; mother and father-in-law, Doug and Melody Hartz of Newhall, IA; sister-in-law, Heather (Shad) Clark of Shellsburg IA; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Brian) Powers of Palo IA, and many nieces and nephews.
