Brent R. Johnson

Brent R. Johnson, 58, of Cormorant, MN passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in his home.

Brent Roderick Johnson was born on May 11, 1967, in Hallock, MN to Don and Margaret (Gravgaard) Johnson. He grew up in Fosston, MN and later moved to Grand Forks, ND where he graduated from Red River High School in 1986. He went on to attend Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN where he earned his degree in Auto Body Technology. Brent worked for various auto body shops in the area before eventually moving to Cormorant and starting Cormorant Auto Restoration.

Brent met Jamie Hahn in 1994, and they were together until his passing. He spent much of his career in general autobody but later began specializing in semi-truck repair and painting -- a focus he very much enjoyed.

In addition to working on cars, Brent enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, watching races, and could spend hours watching old western movies. He also enjoyed gardening, baking homemade apple pies, making apple juice and canning. Brent loved spending time with family and friends.

Brent is survived by his significant other, Jamie Hahn, her son, Jason and his children, Ryder and Raya; father, Don (Penny) Johnson; brother, Derrick (Tara) Johnson; step-father, Bruce Asleson; step-siblings, John (Jill Steinhaus) Asleson, Rachel (Melissa Tomlinson) Asleson, and Aimee (Doug) Strand; aunts, Lois Johnson, Marilyn (Greg Toutges) Gravgaard, Elizabeth Homstad, and Anna Marie Costin; uncle, Paul (Elaine) Johnson; and many other cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Asleson, grandparents, James and Leona Johnson and Nels and Louise Gravgaard; uncle Robert Johnson and many other aunts and uncles.

A memorial service with Livestream will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Cormorant Lutheran Church in Lake Park, MN.

Final resting place will be in the Cormorant Lutheran Church Columbarium. 

Memorials preferred to the Cormorant Lakes Sportsman Club in Audubon or 4 Luv Of Dog Rescue in Moorhead.
