Brent Eric Smith, a beloved resident of Okemah, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 50. He was born on July 5, 1974, in Newton, Kansas, to William "Bill" Clem Smith and Helen (Gardener) Smith.
Brent was a devoted family man who cherished his roles as a husband, father, and son. His passion for cars, especially classic models and Mini Coopers, reflected his love for life and unique interests. Brent's dedication extended into his career as a case manager and therapist in the mental health field, where he found purpose working with Native American communities. He embraced the culture and language of the Muscogee Nation, which became an enduring passion.
A compassionate animal lover, Brent shared a special bond with his dog, Bailey, who held a cherished place in his heart.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Anjaila Smith of Okemah, OK; his stepsons, Isiah Smith of Emporia, KS, Eli Brown of Emporia, KS; his parents, Bill and Helen Smith of Newton, KS; his siblings, Barry Smith & wife Dagmara of Casper, WY, and Tina Graham of Kansas; along with many foster siblings and friends who will remember him fondly.
Arrangements are under the care of Integrity Funeral Service, and details for a time of visitation and remembrance will be announced in the coming days.
