Brett Duane Duncan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 53. He was a tugboat pilot, a resident and native of Plaquemine, LA. Brett was a US Navy Veteran who served in Desert Storm. Visitation will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 3pm until religious services at 7pm. Brett is survived by his son, Fenix Duncan, his mother, Natasha Schexnayder; stepson, Quade Schexnayder; mother, Jackie Allen Duncan; sisters, Courtney Hall and Claudine Mallet; brothers, Tommy, Patrick and Rodney Ryder; special friend, Ivy Bowman; godchild, Alyssa Plaisance; honorary brother, Frankie Duncan; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death his father, Claude "Mop" Duncan; sister, Angie Duncan; mother, Audrey "Tiny" Ryder; brother-in-law, Daniel "Digger" Hall; cousin, Anthony and Michael Duncan; and uncles, Mac and Isaac "Red" Duncan, J.C., Clyde, Lawrence, Frankie and Jessie Barlow. Brett enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing golf. He loved spending time with his family, especially making pancakes and playing horseshoes. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Duncan, Shane Duncan, Dylan Plaisance, Robert Duncan, Ricky Saurage, Devin Duncan and Paul Haptonstall.
