Brett Wayne Ponsford

Brett Ponsford, 60, of Erie, passed away on October 21, 2025. He was born on October 13, 1965, to Keith Ponsford and Joanne Glenn.
Brett was known for his kind heart, quick wit, love of family, and unwavering devotion as a lifelong Denver Broncos fan. He dedicated his career to technical security at NCAR, where he was admired for his expertise and commitment. Beyond his work, Brett had a deep appreciation for life-he embraced many adventures and found joy in the simple moments, especially when shared with the people he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife, Natalie Ponsford, and his children: Rebecca Jacobs, Ashley Line-Bell, Jessica Gatlin, Casaundra Culkin, Mary Culkin, and Ilisabeth Culkin. Brett was a proud and adoring grandfather to Jacob, Emma, Theronne, Luna, Daisy, Kyler, Serenity, Lexxie, Dante, and Fury. He is also survived by his parents, Keith Ponsford and Joanne Glenn, and his siblings Clint, Greg, Shauna, and Tyson. He was preceded in death by Irene Ponsford.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Brett's life will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, at Flatirons Church in Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Brett's memory.
Brett's warmth, laughter, and strength touched everyone who knew him. His love for adventure, his devotion to family, and the countless memories shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
