Brett T. Smith, aged 56, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away, Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born July 3, 1969, in San Antonio, TX, the son of Dr. Dwight Smith M.D. and Alice (Desselle) Seiling.
Brett was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
A passionate LSU football fan, Brett eagerly anticipated each game and the thrill of a new season. He brought that same enthusiasm to life, especially when it came to deep sea fishing, a beloved activity he shared with his two sons. Whether they were out on the water or grilling up their fresh catch, those moments were filled with joy, bonding, and a dash of adventure.
Brett was also known to share his love of Cajun food, often cooking up delicious meals for family gatherings. His culinary skills were matched by his fondness for grilling outdoors, a pastime he enjoyed almost as much as hitting the road for concerts. His favorite artist, Chris Stapleton, found a loyal fan in Brett, who loved the energy of live music.
In addition to his love for family and food, Brett had a special fascination with Buc-ee's gas station. Anytime he was on the road, a pit stop there was a must. His passion for traveling took him to beautiful places, including Panama City Beach, Florida, where unforgettable family memories were made.
Above all, Brett’s proudest accomplishments were his family: his wife, his two sons, his beloved granddaughter, and his parents. He fostered a home filled with love and support, encouraging those around him to embrace life to the fullest.
As family and friends gather to remember Brett, they will celebrate a man whose heart was big, whose spirit was joyful, and whose love will continue to resonate through the lives of everyone he touched. His legacy of kindness, adventure, and passion for family will forever be ingrained in their hearts.
Brett is survived by his wife, Amy (Williams) Smith; two sons, Zach Smith, Jacob (Morgan Snow) Smith; one granddaughter, Violet Smith; parents; two brothers, Carey (Sara) Smith, Cole Smith; nieces, Cassidy (Kenny) Hilliard, Shannon Smith, Addison Smith; extended family and loved ones.
