Brian Evan Arneson, age 81, of Maplewood passed away January 30, 2025.
Brian led a fulfilling and multifaceted life filled with notable accomplishments, family bonds, and cherished hobbies.
Brian was born to Violet and Marvin Arneson on Christmas day 1943 in North St. Paul Minnesota. From his early days growing up, his talent for tennis shone brightly as he won the State title in high school while attending North St. Paul High School. His journey through life was marked by hard work and dedication, starting with a job at a local grocery store where he rose to produce manager, alongside his studies at the University of Minnesota and service in the Army Reserve. The loss of his father in 1966 led him to follow in his father's footsteps, showcasing his remarkable woodworking skills in cabinet making. Somehow, he found time to coach little league baseball, play broomball and tennis.
His personal life flourished when he married Doris Deyo in August 1981, creating a home in Maplewood. They shared a love for gardening, with roses and giant Hosta's, and enjoyed numerous vacations in northern Minnesota, indulging in fishing and outdoor activities. Brian's passion for the outdoors extended to snowmobiling, hunting and especially bass fishing, making memories with family and friends.
Brian cherished the moments spent with his many nieces, nephews, family members and friends creating a strong bond with them through shared experiences and laughter. His role as an uncle allowed him to pass on his love for outdoor activities, like snowmobiling and fishing, to the younger generation. These precious family moments added a vibrant layer to his rich tapestry of life.
Brian passed peacefully in his current residence on January 30th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, talent, and love. Brian is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; brothers, Joel and David; sister, Beth. He is survived by his sister, Mercedes Pary; special friend, Karen; stepson, Scott; nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
