Brian Crew Baker,72, a life long resident of "Mooville", Timberville, went home to the Lord on May 11. He passed away peacefully with his partner, Tina Woodell by his side.
He was born February 13, 1953 in New Market to the late Edwin Crew "Eddie" Baker and Peggy Ann Hepner Knupp.
Brian served in the United States Navy from 1970-1974. He worked as a truck driver for Beam Brothers Trucking hauling mail, a bail enforcement agent from 2007-2009, and owned and operated Brian Baker's Farm Shop in Mooville. Brian was a member of the New Market Fraternal Eagle's EERIE 4264, he was a valued Veteran of the Timberville Moose. Brian was a great machinist and artist. He loved to travel as a teenager with his grandmother, riding his motorcycles, and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by a daughter, Christina Ybarra of Freemont, CA, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his chosen family: Tina Woodell, her daughter, Hayley Hepner and Myles Jackson, sisters, Deborah Baker of Arlington, VA, Alice Baker of Timberville, Kathi Shilling (Greg) of Broadway, brother, Timmy Homan of Costa Rica.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved cat, Princess, grandparents; Kirby and Edith Hepner, O.E. and Alice Crew Baker, stepmother, Nancy W. Baker.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the farm at a later date.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the Broadway Rescue and Fire Dept. and to Gentiva Hospice where memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent; 420 Neff Ave #110, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
