With great sadness and regret, we inform our friends and family that Brian Douglas Barker entered into eternal rest suddenly on Monday, January 9th, 2023. Brian worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. He shared his love of music with everyone, whether it was writing clever lyrics to fresh beats with his band Lyrical Inquest or singing Taylor Swift with his daughters in the car. Some of his favorite memories were spending time on family vacations, like the summer weeks spent in Ocean City, Maryland. Brian had a lot of loves, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, softball, basketball, The Simpsons, and The Beatles. However, no love was greater than the love he had for his daughters. He leaves behind two smart and loving daughters, Abby and Delia Barker; his parents Regis Barker and Mary Lee Barker; his brother, Michael Barker (Dana); their children Nathan, Brett, and Tyler Barker; and his wife of 10 years, Chrissy Barker. A celebration of his life will be held in WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp. on Saturday January 14th from 3-7pm. Brian requested a joyous gathering rather than a traditional funeral, so please wear something colorful in his honor. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to a memorial fund for his daughters. The GoFundMe account link is https://www.gofundme.com/f/memorial-for-brians-girls

Met you the day I trained you at the Post Office, been friends ever since.
Saw you mostly on the dock each morning when you would share stories of your daughters. Hard to believe you are gone. My sympathy to your family and friends. Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him O Lord and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him (RIP)
