Brian Allan Bertram

Brian Allan Bertram beloved son, brother, father, grandpa, cousin, nephew and friend was born on June 13, 1970 in Tacoma, Wa. to parents Gary A. and Sandra L. Bertram. He went home to be with The Lord on Saturday April 23, 2022 in Chehalis, Wa. home of his parents where he was living when he was on Hospice for a very short time.Brian was pre-deceased by Grandpa Pete and Grandma June Zaferin and Grandpa Frank and Grandma Glenora Bertram.He is survived by his parents Gary and Sandra, brother Steve, two sons, Brian (Ashley) and Zachary, grandson Levi, granddaughters Savannah and Rory, Gretchen Brian's former wife, one niece and many cousins. A couple days a week he would go to Puyallup to watch the kids when their parents were at work. Then, when it became too hard for him, he watched the kids at his friend Gretchen's house. No matter how sick he felt, he was always there for them. He adored and loved his family very much.Brian attended most of his school years in Edgewood, Wa. and Puyallup High School where he played trombone in the High school band.He loved going to the youth camp at Millersylvania State Park in Washington and the church camp meeting every year in Portland, OR. The family would stay in a very old wood cabin with a metal roof on the camp grounds. It was always fun when it would rain so hard on the metal roof that the noise of it would either lull us all to sleep or else keep us awake depending how tired we were. That was such a great time together as a family.Brian worked for almost 30 years at Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community as a Maintenance Specialist. After that, he became too sick to work and struggled with illness for about 3 ½ years.Brian was a person who didn't like to fly and he stayed pretty close to home. But, he did take several trips to Disneyland with his family. He travelled to Alaska twice, once for seeing his cousin Pamela play and sing with her band. He saw many beautiful sights there in Alaska. He loved going to the Oregon Coast with his family. It was always a fun time. He loved his time when he went to Denver, Colorado with his family for his cousins wedding and had a great time sight seeing. He loved the Red Rocks and many other sights in Colorado. And this is the time he ended up staying pretty close to home.Brian loved flowers and animals. One time he brought home a rabbit and then brought home two more rabbits, which his Dad built a cage for them. He loved the strays. He and Steve had a dog, Pepper that he dearly loved.The family would like to thank Misti Graffis, Brian's cousin for driving all the way from Tennessee to help Brian out in his last days. Misit cooked for Brian almost daily, along with many other things she did to comfort him. She also, stayed up with Brian many nights, which we are so grateful for. Thank you, Misti for your love for Brian. Also, a big thanks to Gretchen for helping Brian out the last few years and days of his life. She was with him the last night of his life on this earth. She was a great friend to Brian.About three days prior to his passing, he gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ and became very peaceful until the end. Our loss is Heaven's gain. A life gone from us too soon. Brian will be missed by so many.
