Brian Eugene Bishop age 64, born on November 22, 1960, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his home in Belding, Michigan. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Susan (Bobb) Bishop; his daughter, Justine (Bishop) Duron, and her husband, Anthony, of Rockford; his son, Max Bishop, and Max's partner, Ella Dougherty, of Belding and his cherished grandchildren, Madilynn Bettys and Bryce Duron. Also surviving are his sisters, Victoria (D Joe) Payne of Florida, Kristine (Mike) Van Loon of Saugatuck, MI, and Barbara (Ken) Horner of Holland, MI; many cherished in-laws including mother-in-law, Martha Bobb, sisters-in-law, Rhoda (Eric) Kreuzer, Carolyn (Ted) Spear, brothers-in law, Clare Bobb and Joseph Bobb and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, B. Eugene Bishop (1987); his mother, Elinor (Peck) Bishop (2018); and his sister, Laura Bishop (2012). Born and raised in Port Huron, Brian attended Port Huron Northern High School graduating in 1979 where he formed lifelong friendships that he treasured. He deeply loved his family, his country, and the great outdoors. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He was a NASCAR race fan, an avid hunter, loved to fish in lakes and rivers all over Michigan and outdoor recreation of all kinds. We loved his great sense of humor, his hearty and distinct laugh, and his unforgettable bear hugs. Brian loved to cook and grill, always happiest when sharing food with the people he loved. He retired as a proud Union member, a journeyman sheet metal worker with Sheet Metal Workers Local 007. While he traveled often for his job, he loved coming home to his family and his beloved Green Lake for a pontoon ride or to fish. Brian will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. Visitation with the family will be held at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, 13603 Northland Dr. NE, Cedar Springs, MI 49319 Thursday August 7, 6pm-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8 at 11 am at The Springs Church, 135 N Grant St NE, Cedar Springs, MI 49319. Family will welcome friends beginning at 10 am. Interment at Mason Cemetery, Grattan Twp., MI. Memorials in Brian's name may be made to StopAfib or the American Heart Association.
