Brian A. Brogan, 70, of St. Joseph passed away on May 28, 2022, at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, after a brave battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Brian's life will be held at a later date. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com
Brian was born on April 14, 1952, in Jackson, Mich., the son of the late Robert and Harriette (Allen) Brogan.
Brian was a proud alumnus of Michigan State University and Carnegie Mellon University where he earned his bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering. Brian enjoyed a 43-year career in the nuclear industry where he was one of the country's most renowned experts in nuclear risk analysis. Much of Brian's career was spent at Big Rock Power Plant in Charlevoix, Mich., and Palisades Power Plant in Covert.
Brian is survived by his sister, Marci (Kevin) Lavin, his nephew, Brian (Leslie) Lavin and niece, Katie (Mitch) Lechowski; his grandnephews, Asher and Owen, and grandnieces, Tatum and Emma; and his dear friend and "angel of mercy," Pam Stockham.
Brian was affectionally known as "Uncle Buck" by family and friends. He loved all things Irish. Brian always had a strong love of family and was known for his great sense of humor and unlimited generosity. Earlier in his life, he was a scratch golfer and club champion. He was a card player extraordinaire. Brian will be missed by his family and many friends!
