Dear Brian,
This thought is for you and I know you are in heaven..13 years later I still think of you and our Tucson layover on the 727. We jogged together and laughed the whole trip. What a fun and incredible person! See you one day my friend. NWA fellow Flight Attendant Dean Stevens

I think Brian was one of the
funniest and nicest people I have
ever met, he wrote the 1st
ever "good" letter I got as a
probationary flight attendant at
NWA...he also taught me how to
sneak into the pool at a much nicer
hotel on one of our layovers!!! We
eventually got busted by hotel
security, but it was fun!!! What a
wonderful person!!

Happy Birthday Charmer! I gave
Brian that nick-name many years
ago, because his incredible
charming personality and
disposition. He carried that off
amazingly well, even through his
terrible ordeal with the tumor.
Today is his birthday, and we all
know that Brian is partying in
heaven. On his day, remember all
the talents he possessed for making
people laugh, be at ease, and feel
special. For me, I will always
cherish is impersonations of Sybil
Dorset, Tootsie, Crocodile
Hunter.."Isin't she gorgeous...",
and that odd, unspecified gender
man/woman person from the Hitchcock
movie The Birds..."There are four
thousand fifty three species of
birds on our planet..." Smile when
you watch an ice skating or
gymnastic competition, and know
that Brian is also watching from
above. Thank you Charmer, for
enriching my life. First through
the incredible friend you were to
me, and now for the legacy of great
people in your life that you have
brought to me through knowing you.
I love you, but you already know
that.

HAPPY 37th BIRTHDAY B-BOY,
Two weeks ago you left this
worldly dimension to travel to a
higher more peaceful one, and just
like your mom says, it feels like
waiting for you to come home from a
layover or far away trip.I know
tho, that you are in your heavenly
home,hosting what I am sure is a
multi-fabulous birthday bash. As
everyday,and especially today,
your birthday,I can't help but to
remember and smile,and feel blessed
in so many ways,to have been given
the gift of your friendship for the
last 17 years of my life.Tho there
is a void in my heart that will
never be filled,I thank you for
sharing so deeply with me,the gift
that is you. Happy Birthday Baby!!!
Miss you, Love you, and remembering
you always, Tim

I have had the honor of having
Brian as a friend since the fall of
1985. I have stayed in close
contact with Brian throughout his
illness, and he always made me
smile everytime we spoke. I have
so many memories of my time with
Brian that I can't even begin to
write them down. He was a true
friend with an amazing spirit. I
am blessed to have known him. I
will miss him always.

Brian was there before the
Budweiser "wazup guys". I'll never
forget the time we (Deb Johnson and
Brian)were all flying together. On
a full DC-9 from MIA. The Captain
just told me we were going to get
to DTW early, so get the cabin
ready. While standing in the front
of the plane I "dinged" for Brian
(and at the same time I held the
head set up and kind of shook it
towards him so he would know that
it was just me calling)to pick-up
the head set in the back. He
didn't know it (until it was too
late), the announcement button was
on! As he picked-up the head set I
put my head set to my ear...and
over the PA Brian said very loud
"WAZUPPPP". Everyone on the Flight
looked up to the front of the plane
were I was standing with this
stunned look on their face. With a
smile on my face, I pointed to tne
back. Brian hung up the head set
quickly and when everyone looked to
the back, he was just sitting there
with this little grin on his face,
as to say "wazup"?
I'll never forget him :)

I must add my sorrow at losing a

To Joe and Brian's family, I was so
sorry to hear about Brian's death.
Having lost so many friend's and
family I know the pain that death
brings. The one thing that keeps me
going is knowing they are in heaven
looking down on us taking care of
us and that we will see them
again. Brian is now at peace and
no more pain. The last time I saw
him was October 1999 at Karen's
Birthday party. He looked good and
had a beautiful smile on his face.
My thoughts and prayers are with
you all. Much Love, Tracy Fuller

Brain and I were in Detroit when
both of us started flying in 1985.
I will always remember the fun we
had bar hopping in Ann Arbor and
Detroit. I feel badly but being in
Memphis I did not know of Brain's
illness until several days ago. I
had gotten a card but was too late
in sending it. Brain was a
wonderful person who loved life and
lived it to the fullest. My
sympathy to his family and to Joe.

Brian was a ray light on any gray
day, when you where with him you
had to know he would have you
laughing! Brian always called me
his "little fluchten" after a
Frankfurt layover and I will
forever carry his humor and spirit
with me. How fortunate I am to
have known Brian.

Although we never met, I feel as
though I know Brian. As a fellow
DTW based Northwest Flight
Attendant I have heard many people
speak his name in the past. I am
so glad I just recently had the
opportunity to sign a card sent to
him. I only wish I could have
known him myself. My thoughts and
prayers are with Brian and his
family and friends. May he rest in
peace.

Brian was the first person I met when
I arrived in ATL for training as an
"85-PP", even in that stressful
environment he was always ready for
fun. One of my favorite memories is
when he pulled "Annie" through a DC-9
window to demonstrate the effects of
an explosive decompression. "Resusi-
Annie" became "Annie-out-the-
window!".
Dear Brian, I will remember you
always.
Love,

To Brian's Family and partner,
Brian
and I started working together in
Detroit in 1985. At work, seeing his
name at check-in was always a sense
of relief because of his easy going
presence. The times Brian and I
spent experiencing various cities
and working with each other defines
why I like still like my job. He
will be missed. My thoughts and

I would like to express my deapest
sympathies to Joe and the Dahlquist
Family. Brian was probably one of
the funniest persons I've had the
pleasure of knowing. The humor he
bestowed is truly a comfort to me
at this time. I remember the last
time Brian and Joe came to Boston.
After the escalator fall I was
called and as we sat in the
hospital he had me in stitches.
Doing a demo with the O2 mask,
asking the nurse for a special
meal, just being Brian.... the
pains in my stomach from laughing
are fresh in my mind.
We have lost a wonderful man. I
hope God will comfort Joe and the
family at this time.
