Brian J. Dahlquist of Minnetonka, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2023, at home with his loving wife, Lisa. Brian was smitten the first time he met Lisa back in 1992, and she is so grateful for the many happy years they spent together. Brian is also survived by many others who loved him dearly, including his brothers, Daniel (Margie) Dahlquist, Mark (Carol) Dahlquist; sister, Nanci (Mike) Miller; parents-in-law, Bill and Carol Peterson; sisters-in-law, Laurie (Chris) Peterson, Sheri (Glen) Schneider; brother-in-law, Bill (Lynae) Peterson; nieces and nephews, Joe (Cherie), Tom, Aaron, Daniel, Kim, Jake (Cindy), Kaytie (Nick), Brianna (Niko), Laelle (Tyler), Sophia, Bryce, Will; great-nephews, Alex, Franco; and so many additional relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dolores Dahlquist.
Brian was proud to be a police officer for over 27 years, where he was passionate about helping others and serving the community. Brian began his career in 1988 as an officer in DeKalb County, Georgia. He moved back to Minnesota to be near family in 1991, where he joined the Champlin Police Force. After retiring from a 20-year career in Champlin, Brian continued working part-time for the Corcoran Police Department until 2015.
"Uncle Brian" was well-known for his stories, the twinkle in his eyes, and his boyish grin. Brian loved to make people laugh and told many, many "Brian jokes." He was an incredibly kind and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Brian enjoyed traveling with family and friends throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He loved exploring and hiking national parks, going on cruises, and walking in the woods with his beloved dog, Macy. He will be greatly missed by us all!
Family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30 at the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th Street, Edina, MN. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a light lunch.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Brian's commitment to public service through a donation to the Champlin Crime Prevention Fund. Donations can be sent in care of Sheri Schneider, 166 139th Avenue NW, Andover, MN 55304.

I was unable to see this email from our Police Department at the time and want to add that he was a great person who gave me the honor of flying with him in his plane years back and also having the opportunity to work with him when i was a Dayton Officer and also a Corcoran Officer. He is missed dearly and had such a great sense of humor. You are missed buddy. Hugs to Mrs and Family.

Brian and Lisa are amazing freinds! Brian could do anything, was super handy, and above all, kind. You could not meet anyone with a kinder heart. He will be greatly missed by so many. Lisa, we love you so much! Andy and Randy
