It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Brian Lee Desaulnier, who left us on October 15, 2025, in Red Rock, Texas. Born on June 10, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Brian was a man who embodied kindness and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Desaulnier, who stood by his side as a devoted partner throughout their journey together. Brian and Deborah were high school sweethearts who reconnected 25 years after graduation, finding that their love had endured the passage of time and has only grown stronger through the years.

He was a proud father to his three sons, Scott Gilley and Matthew Gilley, while also mourning the loss of his son, Ryan Gilley, who preceded him in death. Brian’s family continued to grow as he welcomed daughters-in-law, Baylee Gilley and Mary Gilley, into the fold. The joy of being a grandfather to eight grandchildren brought immeasurable delight to Brian’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with his family.

Brian is also survived by his loving mother, Avis West, and his brothers Jerry Jr. , Steve, Mike, Arnold “Bubba”, his sister Beth and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Desaulnier.

Brian was a passionate man who found joy in simple pleasures. He loved attending auctions and had a deep appreciation for history and nature, which he expressed through his collections of arrowheads, geodes, fossils, and rocks of all kinds. He also took great pride in building out the ranch for his family, creating a haven where they could gather and make lasting memories together.

As we gather to celebrate Brian’s remarkable life, we invite those who knew him to join us for a visitation at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home on October 21, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held the following day, October 22, 2025, at the same location, beginning at 10 AM, where we will share stories and honor the profound impact Brian had on all of our lives.

Though Brian is no longer with us, his kind and giving personality will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in love and cherished moments, ensuring that his spirit will live on through his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
