Obituary of Brian P. Frechette
Brian P. Frechette, 59, of Plympton, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 28, 2025 after a brief illness. Brian was the beloved partner of Joel M. Fanton, with whom he spent the past 23 years at the Plympton home they designed and built. Brian was born in Fall River and raised in Westport and Litte Compton, RI. He was the much-loved son of the late Herve P. Frechette and the late Anne (DeNardo) Frechette. Brian was graduated from Bishop Stang High School in Dartmouth and Fordham University in Bronx, New York and spent the past 30 years working for Computershare and its predecessors in Canton, MA. Brian held many positions in the financial industry including his latest as a Corporate Actions Relationship Manager.
Brian had many interests but above all he adored his family, his friends, his home and his beloved Cocker Spaniels Rollo (Paneesha) and Karter (Chocky). He was also pet Dad to the late Howie, Lamont, Sadie, Sophie, Cougie and Orsa. Like his parents, Brian inherited a wonderful sense of humor and excellent culinary skills. He and Joel loved to entertain friends and family and they designed their home to be welcoming to everyone. Making and sharing good food was truly a labor of love and passion for Brian.
When Brian was not in the kitchen, he was busy detailing his cars. Brian was a car buff and loved reading about all of the latest models and car technologies. He could describe every detail of every Audi and could always tell you the best car to buy. Brian could, without fail, accurately identify the make and model of nearly any car, even from a mile away.
In addition to Joel and the Spaniels, Brian is survived by his loving Aunts Paulette O'Brien of Seekonk, Carol Waldie of Methuen, and Yvette St. Michel and her husband Tim of Westport as well as his Uncles Butch DeNardo and his wife Elaine and James DeNardo of Fall River. Brian also leaves many friends, cousins and extended family as well as a brother Richard. Finally, Brian leaves his Fordham friends (Bart, Bill, Danny and Lisa) affectionately known as the Fordham Crew, and his decades-long friends at Computershare.
Brian was truly one in a million and the proverbial needle in the haystack and all who knew him loved him dearly. He will be forever remembered for his wit, his warmth and his passion for life.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street Kingston MA, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service at the funeral home will follow on Thursday, April 3,2025 at 10 a.m. followed by internment at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston, MA
Brian's family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital who expertly cared for Brian during his illness. Please consider making a donation to either organization to help them continue to deliver the excellent and loving care they provide to their patients.
