Brian Griffin

Brian Keith Griffin passed away January 17, 2026 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center at the age of 57. He was born August 15, 1968 to Ivy Jim Griffin and the late Gladys Pearl Hughes Griffin.

As a carpenter from the young age of 15, Brian dedicated his life to the craft, pouring not only his skills but also his heart into every project he undertook. A man of profound dedication, he held a hard exterior—his no-nonsense approach and insistence on doing things his way made him a person who was often perceived as firm. Yet, beneath this tough facade lay a deeply caring and loving man whose compassion for others shone brightly.

Brian was a meticulous individual who demanded order and high standards, especially in his work. Those who had the privilege of witnessing his craftsmanship could see the love and detail imbued in everything he created. More than just his profession, carpentry was his passion, a vocation that truly represented his zest for life.

Brian found immense joy in life’s simple pleasures. The beach, particularly Panama City, held a special place in his heart. It was his happy haven, a sanctuary where he and his family vacationed nearly every year, creating lasting memories together. His laughter mingled with the waves, and his spirit thrived in that sun-kissed paradise, with their most recent visit taking place just last October.

In his later years, Brian discovered a new hobby—playing pool. He relished the times spent at the table with his beloved wife, Tracey. These moments were filled with laughter and playful competition, showcasing a different side of him—a softer, more relaxed spirit that delighted in the company of his partner.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Ralph Griffin and Jimmy Wayne Griffin; infant sister, Mary Catherine Griffin and father-in-law, Jessie Edward Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tracey Ann Williams Griffin; son, Dallas Keith Griffin; his father, Ivy Jim Griffin; sister, Phyllis Dean (Joe) Kuss; brothers, Gary Leaton (Louise) Griffin, Thomas Richard (Patty) Griffin; mother-in-law, Carolyn "Sue" (Douglas Vann) Williams-Griffin; sister-in-law, Susan Lynn (Allen) Murray and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma with Bro. Junior Duke officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande. Visitation will begin at the funeral home in Selma, at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Tatum, Mason Tatum, Gary Griffin, Jr., Blake Dewhitt, Chris Bohannon, Mark Schiafone, Mike Billingsley and Joe Kuss. Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors and nurses of Vaughn Regional Medical Center.
