Age 80 of Wilkins Twp., passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Beloved husband of over 53 years to Marilyn Anita (Sherbin) Hill. Loving father of Darren (Jennifer) Hill. Proud grandfather of Landon (and his mother, Dee), Maverick, and Lydia Hill (and their mother, Jennifer). Also survived by his brothers, Leonard (Carole) Hill and Ronald (Irene) Hill; brothers-in-law, Michael (Patricia) Sherbin and John Sherbin; sister-in-law, Annamarie Sherbin; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Margaret Hill.
After earning a Master's degree from Duquesne University in Education, Brian devoted 30 years to teaching 5th grade at Woodland Hills Elementary. His commitment to nurturing young minds was evident in the generations of students who remember him not just as a teacher, but as a mentor and friend. Brian's influence extended beyond the classroom as he founded the Wilkins/Churchill Rescue No. 1 Ambulance Service, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the well-being of those around him.
Brian's love for the great outdoors was a testament to his adventurous spirit. He found solace and joy at his hunting and fishing camp, a place where he could immerse himself in the tranquility of nature. His green thumb was most evident in the vibrant pumpkins he grew each year, lovingly cultivating them to bring delight to each of his grandchildren.
Above all, Brian's greatest passion was his role as Pop Pop to Landon, Maverick, and Lydia. His eyes would light up with pride and love whenever he spoke of their achievements and antics. He was a constant presence in their lives, offering wisdom, support, and unconditional love. His legacy as a devoted grandfather will continue to live on in their hearts and memories.
A Civil War buff, Brian's collection of memorabilia and books was a testament to his love for history. He could spend hours discussing historical events and sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts. His knowledge and passion for the subject enriched the lives of all who had the pleasure of engaging in these conversations.
Brian's life was a tapestry of service, education, and love. His impact on the community and the countless lives he touched will be felt for generations to come. As we bid farewell to Brian Hill, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of purpose and heart. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Friends will be received Friday, October 17, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950).
