Brian Louis Holdener, beloved husband, father, and cherished member of his community, passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 67. He was born on December 21, 1956, to loving parents Benedikt and Marie Holdener, whose legacy of kindness and resilience he carried throughout his life.
Brian leaves behind his devoted wife, Dena (Nelson) Holdener, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. He was a pillar of strength and support to his daughters, Jaclyn Holdener Kaech and Lindsey Holdener, whom he raised with boundless love and unwavering guidance.
Brian was known for his quick wit and generous heart. He touched the lives of many with his warmth and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a heartfelt laugh over a beer. For 30 years he proudly worked at Darigold in Seattle, retiring in 2006. He also attended Dieringer Middle School and graduated from Sumner High School in 1976. His dedication to his family was matched only by his commitment to his Swiss community, where he made lasting friendships and positive impacts in his volunteer work as Barmeister, former trustee of the Swiss Sportsmen's Club, and committed member of the Wednesday Work Crew.
Brian is also survived by his son-in-law, Tyler Kaech, husband to Jaclyn; mother Marie Lindauer Holdener; seven brothers and sisters Steve (Rita), Larry (Brenda), Jerry (Janis), Diana, Lisa (Rick), Bob (Mandy) and Eric (Shirley); and more than a dozen nephews and nieces – all who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Benedikt Holdener, and his brother, Daniel Holdener (Cindy).
In addition to his immediate family, Brian leaves behind a wide circle of friends and relatives who will forever cherish his memory. He will be deeply missed but remembered with immense love and gratitude for the profound impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.
Private services for the immediate family will be held August 4, 2024, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Brian's life at the Swiss Park in Bonney Lake, WA at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family and to support Swiss youth wrestling and rifle club training programs, in honor of Brian's lifelong commitment to his community.
Brian Holdener's legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of his family and friends.
