Wenig Funeral Home - Sheboygan FallsBrian R. Homiston, of Sheboygan, passed away surrounded by loving family on October 1, 2025, at the age of 61. No words seem sufficient enough to describe a man who was truly larger than life—one of a kind.
In life, Brian was an avid sports fan, and would spend Sundays cheering on both the Brewers and the Packers. In the off season, he could be found on the water with a fishing pole in hand, on stage sharing the gift of his beautiful voice, making new friends out of strangers everywhere he went, and spending time with family. Brian was an incredibly special person, and he had that rare ability to make everyone he met feel special as well.
Brian is reunited with his brother Brad (Homiston) in heaven. He is survived by his devoted parents Richard and Janice (Hass) Homiston, along with his daughter, the light of his life, Shelby (fiancé William) Homiston, and his loving sister Kristi (Antonio Plaza) Homiston who will all continue to share and honor his legacy. Proud uncle of Diego and Domenica Plaza Homiston and grateful cousin of Todd Kuehn and Chad Mahlum.
Finally, the family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Neuro ICU team at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee who went above and beyond to care for Brian the past 10 years, as well as in his final days. A special thank you to Drs. Brandon Overholt and Richard Rovin. Their overflowing compassion deeply touched and inspired the entire family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 12:00 noon – 4:00PM with a short service at 1:30PM at the Sheboygan Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sailing Education Association of Sheboygan (SEAS), a cause close to Brian’s heart, are encouraged. And next time you’re on the lake, think of that infectious laugh of his as you’re reeling in a big one.
