In the perfect will of God, Elder Brian Keith Jackson I,
was called from labor to reward on Thursday, August 31,
2023 at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 29 days old in
the UMPC Community Osteopathic Hospital.
Brian was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Charles
Jackson and Viola (Sawyers) Jackson. He was educated in
the Harrisburg City School District, graduating from
Harrisburg High School in 1976. After graduation, Brian
joined the U.S. Navy where he served until 1983 earning
the rank of E5 Petty Officer 2 nd Class. He was a former
employee of Berg Electronics, DuPont, Tyco, and CoVenCo
and retired from the Defense Logistics Agency in New
Cumberland, PA in 2021.
Passionate in his service to the Lord, Brian served in the
position as Elder at the Faith Chapel Church of God in
Christ under the leadership of the late Superintendent
Belgium N. Baxter until his passing, and then under Elder
C. Wayne Baxter. He later moved his membership to the
Lingo Memorial Church of God in Christ where he was
faithful to his leader, Bishop Benjamin J. Ravenel, Sr. who
passed away in 2018. His commitment to Christ carried
over in service to the newly appointed pastor, Elder
Ronald D. Holton, Sr. where he remained loyal to the
ministry. Elder Jackson has held positions of service as a
van driver, Sound System technician, choir director,
Sunday school teacher, worship leader, and member of the
Men's Fellowship. He was entrusted with assignments to
Ray's Temple Church of God in Christ in Lancaster, PA
and Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Mount Union,
PA along with participating in seminars at Kingdom Life
Christian Center in Harrisburg, PA.
Brian's hobbies included woodworking and refinishing
antique furniture and repairing boats. He could be found
participating in praise and worship with all that he had
and lifting his beautiful tenor voice above all around him.
In his quiet time, he enjoyed reading but the true calling in
his heart was his passion for serving people.
Brian was preceded in death by his father and his maternal
grandmother, Bernice Garfield. He leaves to cherish his
memory Lois Sneed-Jackson, his wife of 37 years, 8
months, and 4 days, along with sons, Brian (BJ) Jackson,
II and Michael Brooks; grandsons, Hubert L. Payton and
Michael James Brooks; his mother, Viola Jackson;
brothers Willie (Sandy) Sawyers, Juan Sr., Charles, and
Darryl Jackson; sister Miyosha (Mose) Jackson-Lee along
with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

September 8, 2023 at Word of Grace Ministries at 3814 N.
Progress Avenue, Harrisburg PA 17110. Viewing will begin
at 10:00 a.m. and the services at 11:00 a.m. The interment
will be at the Harrisburg East Cemetery immediately
following.
