Brian Joseph Jason passed away suddenly July 26, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born March 16, 1974 in Chicago to Victor and Barbara Jason.
Brian grew up in his family’s restaurant; he was an ardent worker with a hospitality mindset. He earned his culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI and operated several food & beverage establishments before moving into the private club industry, most recently serving proudly as General Manager of Barrington Hills Country Club alongside a stellar team. Brian loved challenging and being challenged by his wife, their annual trips together, cozy nights on the couch, and trying to make her laugh. Brian’s greatest joy was being a dad - sharing experiences & advice with his children and watching them grow into adulthood with great pride. He was passionate about music, mentoring others, adding a pop of color with his socks, and seeking out Chicago hot dog stands. Brian welcomed opportunities to spend time with his entire family - musical theatre dates, concerts, sing-a-long road trips, cooking together, holidays, fishing in Canada, and game nights where he’d zealously throw down uno draw-4 cards.
Brian is survived by his adoring wife, Erin K. Jason; beloved children, Parker and Riley Jason; siblings, Drs Susan (John) DeGuide and Pamela Jason; parents in law, Ronald and Eileen Van De Walle; siblings in law, Patrick (Coleen) Van De Walle, Mary (Colin Gildea) Van De Walle, and Sean (Kristin) Van De Walle; cherished nieces and nephews Chris DeGuide, Ali DeGuide, Alyssa (Korey) Flynn, Stephen Johnson, Andy (Cassie) DeGuide, Annie Van De Walle, Liam Van De Walle, PJ Van De Walle, Maggie Gildea, Bridget Gildea, Kenzie Van De Walle, Quinn Van De Walle, Declan Van De Walle; best friends John & Kelley Hickey, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his treasured parents; much loved uncle, Rich Jason; aunt, Carol Ward, his grandparents, and his musical icon Jimmy Buffet.
Visitation will be 4-8:30pm Tuesday July 30th at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.
