Brian K. Knipple, aged 60, a lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born on August 16, 1965, Brian's life was a tapestry woven with resilience, love for his family, and an unwavering commitment to education despite life's challenges.
Brian grew up in South Bend and was a proud member of the South Bend Adams class of 1983. His academic journey was exceptional, as he overcame a brain injury shortly after high school. Demonstrating remarkable determination, Brian not only persevered but thrived, culminating his studies with a PhD from the prestigious University of Notre Dame.
In his younger years, Brian was known for his love of working out, reflecting his dedication to personal health and discipline. His intellectual passion was equally matched by his deep affection for family. Brian was a devoted father to his daughters, Brittney (Craig) Kinzie and Kimberly (Robert) Reilly, cherishing every moment spent with them and their mother. His love extended to his treasured grandchildren, Colton and Graylin, who will carry forward his legacy of courage and devotion.
Brian's personal life was filled with the joyous companionship of his beloved dogs, a source of constant friendship and comfort throughout his life. He also enjoyed the company of his friends, with whom he shared many of life's highs and lows.
He was preceded in death by, his father Richard Knipple, mother Wilda Potter, and brother Eric Knipple-Brian leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His resilience in the face of adversity, his academic achievements, and the love he held for his family and friends, are indelible marks on the hearts of those he touched.

Brian will be buried at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park at a later date.
