Brian David LaFontaine

1973 ~ 2021

Brian David LaFontaine returned to his Heavenly Father Friday, May 21, 2021. Brian died peacefully in his home in Layton, Utah. Brian was born on April 3, 1973 in Riverside, California. He is the first born son to Richard and Jannelle Tingley LaFontaine. He is the husband of Danielle Bissell LaFontaine and the father of two beautiful children,

Brian attended schools in Riverside, Germany and Kaysville, Utah. He graduated from Davis High School. After high school, Brian served a faithful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eugene, Oregon. He dearly loved those he taught, but more importantly, his commitment to the Savior, in doing his work, helped him press on through difficult experiences. He served diligently wherever he was called.

Following his mission he began his career as a veterinarian technician at Bayview Animal Hospital where he worked for 26 years. Brian loved his patients and their parents. He showed deep empathy and caring for those he served and was loved by them.

One of Brian's greatest passions was scouting and he became an Eagle Scout and went on to earn additional palms. Brian served as a Scout Master for many years. Because of his mother's Native American lineage, Brian was awarded two eagle feathers from the Paiute Indian Tribe along with a blessing from the Tribal Chief.

Brian's favorite recreational activity was going to Lake Powell and boogie boarding and cliff diving until the sun went down.

Brian and Danielle were married in the Bountiful Temple in July 2006. They were blessed with two children, Emillie, 12 and Zach 4.

He is survived by his wife and children; parents, Rick and Jannelle LaFontaine, brothers, Jonathan (Sheryl), Alex (Tuane), and sister Caitlin Snow (Austen). Kevin and Debbie Tingley, Ron and Robin Tingley, uncles and aunts, He was preceded in death by Robert and Marian Tingley, Morgan and Viola LaFontaine, grandparents, and Sharon Bissell, mother-in-law.

Brian leaves a void in our family that can never be filled, but knowing that the lord has a need for him at this time, we look forward to being reunited as a family in the celestial kingdom.

"Good night big Bri."

Dear Lafontaine family, we were just made aware tonight of Brian“s passing. Shauna and I express our deepest sympathy. No parent, spouse or child is fully prepared to lose a son, husband, father or friend under any circumstance. While knowing the Lords plan helps with the sting of death, it still hurts because of the loss and abiding love that is shared. May the Lord be with you now and in the days ahead as you remember Brian and his influence in your life.

Love, Scot and Shauna Reid
