Brian Lang Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Day Funeral Service - Gahanna on Jan. 14, 2026.
Taps are in order for Brian, age 62, who passed away, November 21, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio after a long illness. He is now at peace with his heavenly father.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Louella Lang, and brothers, Eric Prentice and Joe Lang. He is survived by his sisters, Lisa Prentice and Victoria Stange; brother, Steve Lang; and special niece, Jessica Lovecchio. He is also survived by many friends and other nieces, nephews, and cousins around the country.

Brian graduated from Westland High School in Columbus in 1980. During high school, Brian worked at Friendly's Ice Cream and loved music which he shared with his brother, Joe. After high school, he joined the US Navy and traveled extensively around the world. In boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, he was Honor Man of his company, an honor given to only the best and brightest recruits on the base. He especially loved Athens, Greece. He received an honorable discharge.

He then moved to Las Vegas with brother, Steve. There, he worked for many years for Mr. Ice delivering dry ice for Las Vegas shows to various venues. In 1997, he returned to Columbus to be with family.

Brian recently worked for Boars Head Foods as a truck mechanic. He loved his job and co-workers. He loved the Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, music (especially Ted Nugent) and designing board games. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.

More details will be forthcoming later about a Celebration of Life and burial arrangements.
